Publication — page furniture and composed output
A document view organizes model content for a target output, with page size, captions, headers, footers and other declared presentation settings.
ddn@1New DDN source
Why use it?
Titles, dates, page numbers and figure numbers belong in the source, not in a post-processing step — one declaration keeps every exported page consistent and reviewable.
When it helps
Print packs, release documentation, filings — anything that leaves the screen as a set of numbered pages.
How to read it
- Distinguish the content bounds from the document page and its margins.
- Inspect captions, references and page furniture at the final output size.
- Check the exporter capabilities installed in the utility before selecting an output format.
What you need
- Views and other document content
- The intended output format
- Page and presentation settings
Things to check
- An output-format declaration does not install an exporter.
- A snapshot does not automatically remain live after export.
Scope of this diagram
The document contract and installed export capabilities are separate; unsupported formats must be reported explicitly.
Work with the converted example
- Open the viewer and select
overview. Inspect the rendered view and its source. - Open the designer. Keep the selected profile and inspect its legal palette and property controls.
- Change one displayed title or an appropriate data value. Apply the edit and check the resulting diagram.
- Run the verifier and review its diagnostics before moving complete content into review.
- Download your edited DDN source to retain the change.
The example uses the indentation-based ddn-next-1 dialect. The language guide explains reusable definitions, dotted data rows and explicit property blocks.
