Isometric chart treatment
The standard chart marks — bars, pies, areas, treemaps — extruded into an isometric treatment with a declared depth field.

Why use it?
Presentations sometimes demand the 3-D look; doing it as a treatment over the same records keeps the data honest.
When it helps
Executive decks and posters, where the audience read the flat chart first.
How to read it
- Heights and angles still encode the declared measure; depth is a second declared field, not decoration.
- Read values off the flat variants when precision matters — isometric projection distorts by design.
What you need
- The records
- The measure and the depth field
Things to check
- Do not compare depths across panels — the projection is per-view.
- Never let the treatment hide a smaller bar behind a larger one without saying so.
Scope of this diagram
A rendering treatment over declared records; the data contract is identical to the flat charts.
Work with the converted example
- Open the viewer and select
iso_bar. Inspect the rendered view and its source. - Open the designer. Keep the selected profile and inspect its legal palette and property controls.
- Change one displayed title or an appropriate data value. Apply the edit and check the resulting diagram.
- Run the verifier and review its diagnostics before moving complete content into review.
- Download your edited DDN source to retain the change.
The example uses the indentation-based ddn-next-1 dialect. The language guide explains reusable definitions, dotted data rows and explicit property blocks.
