Line chart
A data-bound line chart: an ordered series over an ordered axis, from declared records.
chart.basic@1New DDN source
Why use it?
Trend is the question lines answer best — and the records behind the line stay inspectable.
When it helps
Anything over time or another ordered axis.
How to read it
- The axis order comes from the data, not the alphabet.
- A line connects consecutive points — it is not a regression.
What you need
- The ordered axis
- The value with unit
- The records
Things to check
- Do not draw a line across a gap as if it were measured.
- Do not read slope without reading the axis scale.
Scope of this diagram
Declared records and bounded native marks; no trend computation.

- Run the verifier and review its diagnostics before moving complete content into review.
- Download your edited DDN source to retain the change.
The example uses the indentation-based ddn-next-1 dialect. The language guide explains reusable definitions, dotted data rows and explicit property blocks.
