Matrices, tables and analysis panels
SWOT and four-panel strategic analysis
Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats in four quadrants — the classic strategy frame as records.
panels.basic@1New DDN source
Why use it?
The frame forces balance: an analysis that is all strengths or all threats shows immediately.
When it helps
Strategy workshops and decision framing.
How to read it
- Internal factors above, external below (or per the quadrant labels).
- Each entry is a claim with an owner, not a mood.
What you need
- The four lists
- An owner per entry
- The decision the analysis feeds
Things to check
- Do not park weaknesses in opportunities to avoid the conversation.
- Do not run a SWOT with no decision attached to it.
Scope of this diagram
A framing tool: entries are declared content, no scoring or recommendation is computed.
