SIPOC process overview
Suppliers, Inputs, Process, Outputs, Customers as one row-oriented summary: the 30-second version of a process.
panels.basic@1New DDN source
Why use it?
Before any detail diagram, SIPOC aligns everyone on scope and boundaries.
When it helps
Opening a process-improvement or documentation effort.
How to read it
- Read left to right: who supplies, what arrives, what happens, what leaves, who receives.
- The process column is a handful of verbs, not the detail diagram.
What you need
- The boundary of the process
- The five columns
- The primary output
Things to check
- Do not write the whole flowchart in the process column.
- Do not forget the customer of the output.
Scope of this diagram
Summary frame only; detail belongs to the flowchart or DFD.
