Grouped multi-series bars
Several series side by side per category: comparison across groups without stacking.
chart.quality@1New DDN source
Why use it?
Side-by-side is the honest comparison when absolute values matter more than composition.
When it helps
This period vs last, plan vs actual, per team or product.
How to read it
- Same colour means same series across groups.
- Read per group first, then across groups within one series.
What you need
- The categories
- The series
- The values with unit
Things to check
- Do not group more series than the eye can separate.
- Do not let one tall group squash the rest of the scale.
Scope of this diagram
Declared records; bounded native marks.
