Multiple-series area chart
Several series as stacked areas: composition of a total over an ordered axis.
chart.quality@1New DDN source
Why use it?
Shows both the total trajectory and who contributes to it.
When it helps
Load, cost or traffic broken down by source over time.
How to read it
- The top edge is the total; the bands are the parts, in declared order.
- A band swallowing another is data, not a rendering bug.
What you need
- The series
- The stacking order
- The values
Things to check
- Do not stack series that are not parts of one whole.
- Do not put the volatile series at the bottom where it wobbles everything.
Scope of this diagram
Declared records; bounded native marks.
