Percentage-stacked bars
Each bar normalised to 100%: composition comparison across categories of different sizes.
chart.quality@1New DDN source
Why use it?
When the mix matters more than the mass, normalising removes the size argument.
When it helps
Share of type/status per category across unequal categories.
How to read it
- Every bar is 100% — compare segment shares, not heights.
- Percentages derive from the records, never from entered numbers.
What you need
- The categories
- The segments per category
- The segment order
Things to check
- Do not forget the small category whose 40% is 3 records.
- Do not mix absolute and percentage bars on one chart.
Scope of this diagram
Declared records; normalisation is computed from them.
